A NEWBIE GUIDE TO COMPUTERS

As we approach the new generation, Technology is a big trend today. It is commonly found in our everyday lives from simple tech like Smartphones and Tablets to big tech like cell towers to server rooms. It also doesn't need to be all cellphones that are in technology. Technology in our day to day lives can be such as Fans, AC (Air Conditioner), Refrigerators, and many more. Computers are an essential work tool for most people nowadays and today, I am going to explain how does a computer work and it's specification!

First of all, what is a Computer? Computer is a device used to store or create data and information. It is used in many ways from entertainment to work like creating spreadsheets, watching funny cat videos, playing video games or simply researching to fulfill your heart's interests. It's creativity and flexibility to make complex task easier has lead people to grow and create more technology for our everyday lives.
Computers can be pretty complex if you don't know what you are doing. We are going to take a look of it's hardware or the pieces inside it!

This is an example of a modern computer. It can be intimidating to look at but with proper knowledge, it can be easily identified!

Here are the parts:
  • Motherboard - The main board or circuit board that connects each piece together. They may call it the "brain" of the computer.
  • CPU (Central Processing Unit) - This is a small chip that is inside the motherboard that powers the speed and processing of a computer. It is usually made by Intel or AMD.
  • GPU (Graphics Processing Unit) - This is commonly referred as Video Card. It is a part of a computer that enhances the processor (CPU) to be efficient and fast. It is also the one that creates visual for images or even in video games to show 2d and 3d models of such.
  • RAM (Random Access Memory) - This is the one that stores memory that you are using in a computer. It can differ from open applications and the system you are using. It has a smaller size compared from storage memory ranging from 8 GB or more.
  • System Storage - This is usually a HDD (Hard Drive) or SSD (Solid State Drive) which takes up the saved data you have from your computer. It can be the saved files of your work, videos downloaded, games, and many more. This memory usually has a high number since files can differ from their size.
Here is piece by piece of what they look like:
1. Motherboard
2. CPU (Central Processing Unit)

3. GPU (Graphics Processing Unit)

4. RAM (Random Access Memory)
5. System Storage

Now that you know what is a computer and its specification, it is important to know these information because one day you will come across using one of these and might save your day! Whether you are a techy or non-techy person, this blog is very welcoming to help you! Thank you for reading and happy days!

Introducing an upcoming Computer Engineer, Lasrec Dizon!

Beautiful day to everyone! My name is Lasrec S. Dizon, an upcoming computer engineer that is currently a freshie at Far Eastern University Institute of Technology. I am 19 years old and I aspire not only graduate in this school but be the very best computer engineer in our generation.

A little bit of myself, I love computers especially video games. To others, it may seem like a stereotypical hobby of a boy but to me, I do not play video games for leisure but I treat every game like how an artist takes care of an art. All of my dreams and hobbies started when I was a little boy being curious to what technology is. The moment I first turned our home computer on, I fell in love. This led me to be who I am today, being a kind yet knowledgeable person. Despite video games, I also love listening to music and enjoy a few hobbies such as sports and racing.

A day in a life of a computer engineer in FEU TECH, I usually start off my day with coffee, great breakfast meal, and a warm bath before I head on to school. It usually depends on the day of the week but if it's a face-to-face class, I head on straight to my first class and second class which starts at 7-10:50 am. Since it is a 2 hour break/vacant time, I usually hang out with my friends by eating our lunches together, have chats, or even study for our third class. After the vacant time, my third and fourth class continues at 1-4:50 pm with a little break time which gives me sometimes, a small time opening to eat some snacks or have some little chitchat with my friends. When the classes are finished, I usually go home immediately since it is rush hour and having rush hour in the Philippines is very hectic because you have to go through a lot of factors such as unavailable transportations or heavy traffic. Once I get home, I take another warm bath and clean up my stuff after. I end my day off by spending my time with my special someone which we play video games, watch movies, or even study together through Discord.

When there is no school or if it is a vacant day, I usually just slack off and enjoy my time because mental health also matter! Whether you are a boy or girl, we all deserve to slack off and rest but never let our laziness prevail but keep it at a minimum or balanced. I take my vacant days seriously as well because I want to catch up with other things in my life such as playing my games (Valorant, CS2, TOTK, etc..) Sometimes, I spend time with my family by going to church everyday since we are catholic and we respect God but after that, we usually take dinner outside or even just have a fun day with ourselves!

To sum it all up, I am Lasrec Dizon, a freshie from FEU TECH who aims to be the very best computer engineer out there! I am a kind and knowledgeable person who is at clumsy at times but I do not only aim to be the greatest but I want to help the world by creating a big impact especially help those who are not aware of technology because we are rapidly approaching the new era of technology where everyone has open access to it. I am happy with my life and I want you guys to take note of this beautiful inspiring quote to end it.

"FAILURE X FAILURE = SUCCESS"
